Matthew 9:37-38Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
The Gospel is as vital today as it was when Jesus walked the earth. The Lord has made ready the harvest. He just needs someone to say yes and go!
The church is like a lifeboat not a pleasure boat. The church that does not seek the lost is lost itself. Our job is to preach Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. God’s voice and the power of His Word have not diminished.
God operates through anyone willing to follow His plan. The problem is some have their own agenda and their agenda is not a part of God’s plan.
In Matthew 28:19 Jesus said, “go and make disciples of all nations”. That is a command, not a request. The church of Jesus Christ is a go church not a sit church. Armchair Christians never receive the fire. There is no such thing as an anointed couch potato.
Too many of God’s servants are burning out because they are operating by some other fire. Without the fire of God, there is no Gospel The Holy Spirit is the fire that puts the flame into human hearts. Some believe that the Holy Spirit is given so we can speak in tongues. The Holy Spirit is given so that we have power. Without Him we can do nothing He is the fire starter. God wants us to have a heart that is on fire and is radiating love, joy, compassion and mercy.
When you trust the Holy Spirit to complete an assignment God has given you it takes the pressure of performance off of you.
1 Corinthians 9:16
16 For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!
No more performance; preach the gospel. When the Gospel is preached, the Holy Spirit brings change. Emotionalism helps no one it will stir up members but no change takes place after the emotionalism subsides.
John 4:35
35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields, that they are white for harvest.
The Gospel is eternal, but you don’t have eternity to preach it. The greatest work on earth is to preach the Good news, and the greatest need in the world is the need for the gospel.
Mark 16:15-18
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
The anointing and the Great Commission go together. It is comforting to know when we go Christ is always with us. If you separate the commission from the enabling, you either have power without purpose or purpose without power.
To have a successful Christian life, you have to live in the Spirit. Impurity puts you outside the realm of the Spirit. Every message we preach should be from a position of love because the Gospel is the expression of God’s infinite love for us.
To do God’s work, you need to depend on the Lord’s anointing and not on your IQ. Holy Spirit evangelism saves the world not our intellect. God can accomplish more through you when you do what He says and do not allow fear to stop you.
2 Timothy 1:7-7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
Fear is the one demon spirit that opens the door to others. Fear is an infection and a sickness that can spread among Christians. You have to watch who you are hanging out with. Fear is a negative force, and faith is a positive force that can cancel a negative force. The truth will change you from negative to positive. Faith gives life to the dead.
God has a task for all and it may not be the great task you want. You have to be faithful over little so God can make you ruler over much. Doing nothing because you cannot do something mighty is pride.
You are invited to work with Christ, not on your own. When you move with the Holy Spirit, nothing can stop you.
Everything you do must be bathed in prayer it is your lifeline that keeps you from temptation. Guard the weak and strong areas of your life.
You are to be holy because God is holy and holiness makes us fit for service. Humility is a part of holiness. When you preach, attention should not be brought to yourself, all they should see is Jesus. Greatness begins and ends with humility.
God doesn’t want us to wait until we are perfect to evangelize, He wants you busy now.
